Nice!  ;D

Our company trucks suck... F-150's. Eww. The one I use sometimes is gutless with a V6, but at least it has a 5 speed manual... and is only useful in 3rd. 4th and 5th are just geared too tall. ::)

Will it loose speed worse than a VW bus going up a slight hill? I swear my bus is quicker in top gear than the truck in top gear. :-\

nice looking trucks, what kind of transmission does the chevy have in it?

I have never driven a tilt top before, but have plenty of hours driving a mack pulling a 50' duckbill lowboy around.
that and way too many hours in a ten yard end dump
pretty mind numbing work after a little while...

All our trucks are standard except for our little 3/4ton service truck. Mines got a 6speed in it. Its pretty peppy in down but once I get onto the highway loaded its a gutless pig. I lost my speed going up a hill at a 100Kph towing a 3/4 dodge 4x4 and I was down to 60 trying to make the hill...AND ITS NOT A BAD GRADE!!!!
We do have a wrecker but its for BIG trucks. The rollbacks are nice for anything. Especially at an accident.

Ewww, F150? That's not a work truck, that's a toy!

Local independent wrecker around here has an old school F350 Dually based tilt... with a DD 8v71 twin turbo shoehorned under the hood (and body, as I think he said it's rear-mount turbos...).

That thing is loud when it rattles to life first thing in the morning... :o

we have an end dump with a 8v71, gutless pig...
and we have a piece of crushing equipment powered by a 16v149( a really huge motor that makes an unbelievable racket, and about 1000HP)

so your tilt top has a six speed eh', must be nice.
does it act like a standard(clutch works between gears) or a real truck?

I am so used to shifting without a clutch that I rarely use it anymore in anything I drive.

Yep. F-150. We never use it to tow anything, just for hauling stuff. I really hate the way the engine acts when you shift. Normally when I upshift, I'll depress the clutch and let off of the accelerator at the same time and then shift. In the truck if I do that, the engine will rev up briefly when you depress the clutch. It's stupid. You have to let off the accelerator for a sec, then clutch.  >:( Makes accelerating quickly and smoothly difficult.

Yea 6 speed standard with a clutch that takes all my force to push in...I only use the clutch when I'm in town.
