optimize my garett t2
« on: October 16, 2005, 02:24:02 am »
Hi, i have got a citroen zx 1.9td with pump bosch + 10mm head.
I would like that you help me has to optimize my turbo for most power.

I want  being to leave an equivalent flow (~0.15,0.16 kg/s) has that of a garrett T3, while keeping the base of turbo of origin t2.

The pressure must to be lowest possible (0.9b, 1.1b max)

-one possibility

ego I had thought has to change the trim of wheel 60 and a/r casing of 0.48 of the t2 with dimensions compressor.  but I do not know if there is a wheel and a casing of with these characteristics.

 an other idea?

I swapped the T2 on my 1.9TD for a KKK K24 from a 1.6TD, if Citroën has the same optiuons you could do the swap too :)

I think that will be possible to assemble a k24 but what frightens me more, it is the work of adaptation of the pipe.
how you proceeded for adapted the turbo one?

Are you from france or canada?

If the flanges are the same as on a VW the only problem is the oilfeed/return.

if the flanges are compatible depends on the the manufactorer of the car.. if you can take a pic and measurements I could check my spare turbo.

These guys make flange-adapters but any workshop can do that kind of work for you:

I don't know how the oilfeed/return are on you car, only thing I can say that the return was different on a VW. I solved it with a piece of hydraulichose and 2 clamps :)

Can you post some pics?

All VW flanges from that era (1.6TD/1.9TD Garrett T2/T3, KKK K14/K24) are the same, trapezium:

I know some citroen zx td has turbo k14 , if a k24 is assembled without problem on the pipe of k14, I think of being able cleared up me to find the pipes.

i cant post some pic now, because the accesses to the  turbo's place is not obvious, on the other hand I seek a turbo demounting to make photograph, i informe you.
