While the gasses may be cooler after 5 seconds, I don't think that's long enough to cool a heat soaked turbo. Its the latent heat from your exhaust manifold & turbine housing that cokes the oil in the journal bearings after you shut down & the oil isn't flowing.So... buy a house at the bottom of a hill & never buy a turbo'd car from someone who lives at the top of one!
