many of the oil pans on the equipment I work on have ball valves with a nipple for a hose.

but those have their oil changed once a month(ore more) and use upwards of fifteen gallons of oil each.

I have thought about putting a valve for oil changes on my motor, but it would probably just get knocked off.

i would rip the damn thing off and cook my engine. im with 617 and everyone else here, just take the bolt out, its not that hard.

I installed one on my sump on my Porsche ( dry sump )12 quarts of oil

I thought I would just show others a good product...

I think I will keep my fingers of posting any idea's from know on...

I think this one would make more sense in a VW:  http://www.nospillsystems.com/prod02.htm   As mentioned previously they are primarily used where you have to drain large quantities of oil.   For VW's the primary advantage would be not having hot oil run over your hands as you remove the bolt.

If I could keep myself from offroading it would work fine, but alas, everytime I add something new to the underside I find myself driving down a rutted trail........

'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

2 sizes listed. 14x1.5mm and an adaptor if you don't need one. I'm getting one, I ordered a skid plate, because I do drive on a lot of bushroads, I figure if I don't have to drop the plate to do an oil change. Time saved is money saved.

I didn't mean to offend you either, I just think it's a funny idea for what, 4-5 litres of oil?
Some people go overboard on their VW's and there is nothing wrong with that if you're having fun.
