Leak from injection pump! How to fix?
« on: October 01, 2009, 03:28:37 pm »
Hello all!  Once again the VW is leaking.  I'm not sure what this valve is, but it leaks from behind the nut.  I tried jacking it down, but that made the leak worse.  What is this valve and how can i fix the leak?  Is there a gasket behind it?  Picture below of the valve (shiny valve in middle with screw).  Thanks for any help!  I gotta get this back on the road asap!

Just in case you didn't count right, have something to suffocate the engine in case it runs away. ;D

surely turning the ignition off would do the same?
as long as it is just injecting too much fuel(because the screw was turned in too far) and not actually running away on oil

What, exactly, will happen to your hand IF you did try to suffocate the engine with it?

Has anyone tried this before or is it just a "I don't think it would feel too good" kind of thing?!

Granted a vw probably doesn;t have quite the suction, but it wasn;t pretty what a 371 jimmy does to the yellow pages...

I heard of a guy that tried to kill a ran away detroit diesel by sitting on the intake, killed 'im instead........ :o
'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

before you yank the bolt, mark the threads with paint. Then you only have to twist it down to where the paint starts and fine tune it from there.  ;)
