VNT in MK2 / MK3 / B4 - Rear mount / turbo mods?

So I've been considering a vnt on my mk2 but I think I'll have to fight with the rear mount to make this work.
Has anybody come up with a good solid solution to the fitment problem mounting a VNT turbo (on a mk2/mk3/b4) this creates?

This is a GT1749VA turbo, clears the mk2/3 mounts perfectly! It's for sale BTW!

Shipping would only be about £60 with the manifold, I have all the oil lines and turbo - engine brace with it too!
This mounts at the bottom but more inline with the ports, I'll get some pics fitted to the engine!
It's from a PD130 Passat, EU only i believe!

So - I assume you are saying this turbo fits in a mk2 chassis without modifications to the mount?

Doesn't look like it would- the manifold is a "hang down" type, I'd be willing to bet the inlet of the compressor is going to aim right at the rear engine mount. I had the same problem on my MkII. I have an ATP style manifold now, but I'm a little nervous as to weather or not it will clear the firewall now.
Engine should be going in the car pretty soon.

Brendan - Mind snapping a pic of that manifold for us?
My original post was inquiring about turbo configurations that would fit a mk2 / mk3 / b4 chassis WITHOUT modification of parts.
I'm pretty sure the stock AHU / 1Z turbo setup is a drop in.

It fit's perfectly with no mods as it does not hang down like the Mk4 turbo's, I'll snap a pic now and post up when i upload it later!

Cool thanks! Please do. How is firewall clearance?
What's the going rate on one shipped to a London address??
Also - how many miles on it and can we see some closeups of the compressor wheel?
Thanks kindly!

Shipping within the UK is cheap and easy so i can do it for £160 with the oil lines too and a cleaner manifold.
I've not fitted the engine back into the car but these have been fitted before and it doesn't hang back much more than my 1x manifold, i had no worries about it fitting anyway! there is more clearance between that and my ibiza as standard!
If you want any more pics let me know! it's in V.good condition, not sure on the milage as i bought it off the shelf.

huh - so firewall clearance on say a mk2 golf wouldn't be an issue?
Are you saying £160 is just the shipping cost?

£160 for the turbo, manifold and oil lines. Shipping will about £15 within the UK, if you want it direct to the US add another £50!
The turbo is about 1" past the rear mount so i dont think there will be anny problems! there would be a couple inches at least.

You've got my undivided attention now.
three last things -
Sorry to be so particular.
1) Can you give me an idea of the radial and axial play on the turbo
2) Can you verify smooth vane / diaphragm function when vacuum is applied
3) Can you verify or picture document condition of impeller and compressor wheel fins (I'm not interested in a turbo that has any damage, and I really can't tell from your pics, close ups of each side would suit me)
Thanks in advance.
