T2 comparison & performance

I searched with little luck beyond a few comparisons to a K14.
What can a T2 handle boost wise & where would you rate it in the turbo hall of fame. Ideally I'm looking for a GT15 for this build but am having trouble. I'd like 15-18lbs & low RPM spool.
Some are water cooled while some aren't which makes it more "fun"...

I guess not. Nobody seems to have any info on Chrysler T-3's either. oh well. A GT17 may be easier to find than the 15. Just an idea, but I would check the Comp maps first. Good Luck with your search.

Well the thing is I found T2 for sale. I've heard from one good source that it should be a good 20psi turbo but am looking for some more opinions...

I don't think it's a 20psi turbo but do you really need 20psi?
Get a good FMIC and run 15. I was thinking about upgrading my gassers k03 to a larger unit but the loss of bottom end doesn't appeal to me at all. I'm going to get a good FMIC to replace the side mount and I think I'll be happy.

after driving around with a t3 and actually being able to see all the time it's making 0psi... i would trade it for a k14 any day i think.
Sure it'll go really high but ... it's just not practical at all. I'd much prefer a smaller turbo that maxes at 20 but will get to 10 with way less fueling and rpm.

No I dont think I need 20 but want to have a turbo with the internals that can. FMIC isn't really an option on the van, I have a medium all aluminum Saab unit tucked into the air intake same as luckyp. Well I think I'll try out this T2, I'll post my results.

I forgot you had a van.
Your SAAB IC should be fine. I think you will be happy with the t2.

Ya I think so too. I did find this page with some interesting info.
http://www.ruralnet.net.au/~johnh/garrett2.htmSimilar to the T15 with the GT series being the next generation. Not the proper curves but a good comparison to the T25. Its exactly what I wanted to see.

I love my T3
Damn right. My T3 seems to work pretty good. It doesn't make much boost on the highway (~2psi), but then again it doesn't really need to. Of course, I put a 2.25" mandrel bend exhaust on when I turbocharged the car, so with the factory peashooter it might not work as well.

I had a T2 in a Passat and it spools really fast
I could easily make boost in first gear on the parking lot, try that with a T3.
I had it up to 1.2 Bar with no issues but I think that's a bit on the high side for it, probably a lot of back pressure @1.2
1 Bar should be fine, that's about 14psi I think.
