Anybody had problems with the diesel injector fuel return line popping off?
Mine did and now it's a mess although it wasn't highly flammable gasoline so no Flaming death just stink and smoke. The engien compartment lid is now soaked in Diesel. What's the best way to get rid of that?
The hose looks fine - it fits tightly. Was it a possible side effect of too much screwing in of the smoke screw?
What's the best solution for avoiding this in the future? Is there a better hose? How about some sort of clip? I couldn't get small gauge wire nor a plastic cinch strip to fit in between the hose and the injector body.
Floral wire worked I can't remember the gauge tho, it is small green wire, real thin.
What's the best way to get rid of that?
I use a can of Canadian Tire's finest citrus biodegradable engine cleaner and a garden hose.
I had the lines that go from injector to injector (rubber ones) pop off one morning when the car was idling...left a lovely mess...I just let the car ran awhile with all the windows open to get rid of the smell
VW makes some nice little hose clamps that fit on there. They are part number N90045501, and cost about $1.50 each as I recall.
I used a bit heavier hose that would fit on nornally, I heated it up with a lighter and slid it on...never had another problem
