So I installed a set of isspro gauges which includes a mechanical boost gauge. Upon acceleration I'm hearing a buzzing type of noise coming from the gauge?? It's only there when accelerating and stops when decelerating?? I also thought it could be a vibration with the boost line/hose - any ideas what it might be. Gets annoying.
Yup, there will be some oscillations in boost pressure that cause many needles to "buzz"... several vendors (Draft42 for example) sell a boost hose T with a restriction specifically to damp this annoying noise. I have one... works great.
If you can't find one locally Concept 1 in Calgary has 'em... 3/4s of the way down this page:

Thanks for the info! much appreciated.
Or stuff some cigarette filter cotton into the pipe until it shuts up. The buzz is the guage trying to respond to the 30 odd sucks a second as the engine cylinders each breathe. The gears in the guage will wear out fast too.
Someone else posted a fix where he gently melted the plastic tee branch going to the gauge & then put a tiny hole in the melted end, thereby making a cheap restrictor. I'm not claiming credit for the idea - just can't remember where I read it.
I've been using a clothespin on my rubber line until I get around to either buying a restrictor tee or doing the melt mod... It's really shade tree, but it does stop the buzz. Maybe I should just paint the clothespin black & chrome the spring... (only kidding)
Pipe - what pipe??
The one from your new guage to wherever it taps into the boost plumbing.
Reporting back... I did the "melted tee" mod. It does work and is very easy. It doesn't take much of a hole, though. I used a pin, and only pushed it in maybe 1/16". Have just the faintest buzz now - not really annoying.

Ya - I tried it too, but maybe my hole is still to large as it's better but not were you are with your's. I'll try again. Thanks for the update.
