Hey everybody.
First of all, a short introduction. My name is Joakim, I am 28 years old, from Sweden. I am new to this forum, and to VW Diesel engines, as well.
I am looking to install an AAZ engine in my Suzuki Samurai (4WD Jeep-ish vehicle). I have found adapters for the stock Samurai gearbox, but I would much rather like to use an automatic transmission. Since the Samurai is four-wheel driven, with a transfer box in the middle, the gearbox from a rear wheel drive car is required. I would therefor much appreciate any info or tips on the subject of joining a rear wheel drive auto trans with the AAZ engine. I have concidered the AW 71, which was used in Opels and Volvos, but I am willing to reconcider.
Any ideas, thoughts? Thanks!

/Joakim
Firstly, Welcome to the Forum
it's always good to have new people on the board  as for your question, there are many people on here who should be able to answer your question, unfortunately I'm not one of them

but try to search it out in the "Non VW Group Diesel" area, thats where everyone running diesels in other vehicles are.
Good luck!
I think you are the second new member from Sweden this week! I know we have 1 or 2 members who have swapped into a a vehicle like yours. They will see your post eventually and respond.
I believe you can use a Trans out of a Suzuki Sidekick. Preferably a 2wd one so you can still use your transfer case.
I think the company that makes the adapter kit also makes one for the the kick auto. Probably have to contact them to confirm.
If you cant locate a 2wd trans the 4x4 trans can be used, there are companies that make an adapter to mount 2 kick t cases together for lower gearing as well then you wont have to use your Sami t case.
I bet you will have to have a torque converter built for it though. I doubt a stock converter would hold up to the torque even from a stock AAZ.
Sounds like a fun project!
I just picked up a Kick to build as well, sold the Zuk a few years ago and was waiting for the right one to come along for the conversion.
