Ok, so no more feeler thread. This is the real deal. Finally got a chance to get everything out, take pictures, etc. etc. of all the stuff that I had for the b3 mTDI build including the complete shortblock that I had built for it. I also have a variety of other bits around too.
First...the shortblock. Don't ask me to part it. If you'd like to add accessories/brackets to it, etc. That is fine...and cost will be reduced vs. buying the accessories individually. However, I will NOT part the shortblock from its current status at all. Lowballers...don't even PM/email or ask me. Its just not going to happen.
Now, for the shortblock.
Started out with a motor with 200k plus on it. Motor was in good shape but very tired as you can imagine. I did EVERYTHING on the shortblock to bring it back into factory spec and to this point it includes everything listed below
-block was stripped, degreased and acid dipped at local engine machine shop.
-Block professional overbored and honed
-block sandblasted by myself, primed (x2) and painted (x3) with ceramic based engine paint
-crank polished
-all rods checked and resized
-Pistons are 1st OS units, OEM, ALH style units with Goetze rings
-All bearings are OE to include main bearings with NON-intergrated 6 pc thrust bearing(I never build motors with the intergrated style) and OE rod bearings (all in standard...were well within spec).
-Installed new intermediate shaft bearings
-all hardware replaced with OEM parts (rod bolts, main bearing bolts)
-All seals replaced with OEM units
-New crankshaft sprocket bolt of course...
-New oil pan
-ADDED new windage tray with integrated oil pan seal
This will make someone a super nice motor and/or a shortblock to work with. I didn't finish making it a complete longblock for a few reasons...namely the fact that I will not recoup my labor and time into the motor by doing so and much of the interest I have received thus far has been for the shortblock complete only as many like to go their own route for doing the head...or already had one. However, if someone wanted a complete longblock and wanted to buy everything and wanted to pay a bit extra for me to finish it, I could do that. For now...
$1250.00 on the shortblock itself...as pictured.
Deposit taken on complete shortblock. Sale pending completed paymentI also have a good/used head from the same motor. Complete as it sits here. $300.00
Next up...the CTN 02j/a 5 speed trans I had for the b3 mTDI swap. In great condition. NO issues, no grinds! about 120k on it. Complete as it sits... $450
VR6 clutch kit (less than 2k on the kit) that I'll throw in for free if you pay my asking price.
SOLD Starter for 5 speed 02j style tranny (not like 02a tranny starters...has different nose...02a unit WILL NOT work in the b4/mk3 TDI trans). This is a practical new REMAN unit. $125.00
Have a few single mass 02a style flywheels around as well...will consider selling one if someone is in need...
Next...my little secret for the b3 mTDI swap. A nice Holset HX25w turbo that I was going to use on it. A quick spooling 6cm hot side with a compressor side that is larger than my 50trim 300D unit and also the holset flows quite a bit better (and more efficiently) than a T3...look at their site for specs on the HX25. he inlet flange is a T25 style flange (will need adaptor for most manifolds out there...unless you find a t25 flanged 8v manifold by some stroke of luck) and as a V-band setup for the hot side (though could be removed for a more standard style flange) $250.00
SOLDThis will make for a nice little monster on a TDI motor...without sacrificing much at all in spooling or economy...I'm going with something slightly larger but similar as the new turbo on the mk1 mTDI.
Speaking of turbos...how about a few exhaust manifolds.
First is ATP style 8v T3 flanged (backset) exhaust manifold. This is what I run on my Mk1 mTDI and had gotten one for the b3 swap as well. Of course...not using it now. I don't believe it has EVER been used at all. In perfect shape. $150
SOLDThe stock IDI TD manifold is in good shape too. Could use a good blasting... 50.00
SOLDIn doing this build, I also took the time and sandblasted ALL accessories, primed and painted each one...they are below here

Phew...think that is it. All prices are less shipping unless shipping is noted. I ship via USPS or UPS in most cases...preferably USPS if possible. Shipping for items is calculated for the lower 48...not CAN or outlying areas. Shipping charged will only be actual shipping.
I am willing to ship the larger bits...even the block, trans, etc. but buyer pays shipping of course. As always, local pickup is possible and meeting within a reasonable distance from 14905, NY is possible too.
As for the TDI bits. There is everything here minus maybe a few nuts and bolt...and head bolts for that matter (had studs...but they are already gone) to make a COMPLETE motor. Currently, the motor could go the mTDI route or it could still be a eTDI setup.
That said, with the TDI stuff and all the new parts, etc. I could consider making a deal for someone who wanted everything and had a figure in mind. Or a combination of items. So, its up to you. Here it is...let the fun begin. You can reach me here through PM or email
