AAZ pulleys question
« on: January 02, 2009, 04:37:11 pm »
I'm doing a aaz samurai swap and almost have everything in order to do it but the 97 engine I got has a serpentine setup on it. My problem is I want to use the other belts instead since Im not running power steering or ac and am using the stock suzuki alternator.  Does anyone know the best way to convert the crank pulley and waterpump over? thanks in advance!

nonono... you don't want to go to v-belts.  it can be done, but its more trouble than worth.  you can simply remove the a/c pump.  you'll need a non a/c w/p pulley though... and a shorter serp belt.  then you can also remove the p/s pump and run it as is.

hmm ya I might stick with the serp setup. but the wrecking yard took everything off the engine. Do you guys know if there is an idler pulley or tensioner I need to get? Thanks

check the FAQ section for the serp setup on a 1.6 thread I made. It will show you pictures of both the AC and non AC versions.
