so my drivers side wiper arm striped so i picked up a new one from the wreckers as i was tightening down the arm the part were it bolts to snaped! i was wondering if anyone has had the same problem and what they did to fix it also if you have any pics that would be great im thinking im going to have to replace all of the wiper mechanisms that run underneath the hood lol thanks guys dan

Just best to buy the wiper shaft. before mk4's you could buy just the single shaft. Now you have to buy the whole assembly.  The worse part is re-riveting the new shaft to the bracket. I used to use a big vise to squeeze the rivet closed. make sure you get the proper side ,they are different left to right.

Althought if you are planning to drive this weekend, aren't you supposed to get another dump of snow? Then you may be f..ked until you can find a supplier open today or saturday that has one in stock. Or steal another model like yours, remove the assembly, cut the rivets off, drill holes to use nuts and bolts instead of the rivets, replace the assembly ,drive the stolen one back to where you got it, etc,etc :lol:

funny thing i took the pass one and put it in the middle so it wipes the drivers side lol its all euro style now lol i hate it tho thanks for the help tho
