not so much with the t2 its similar to the ko3 in size i think.Instant boost.the unburnt fuel shouldnt be to bad,if its a subtle amount.

Ahh. I'm not very familiar with smaller turbos. I guess with a little one and turned up fuel it's like .. boost all the time? (almost boost at idle?

)
I can't stop thinking about what that other fellow said... 40psi in 4th gear??? oh my ***?! My gauge doesn't even go to 40psi

Heh. We hit 3 bar in our 1Z with our first chipset. lol. 3bar=43PSI. Stock everything but nozzles, turbo, and ECU. LOL.
Now it'll get around 2 bar on a full throttle loaded romp. No issues so far. Still stock exhaust... Whether is sorta keeping us away from getting the rest of the system installed. In Mintern, CO. lol. Little bit of a drive in snow.
BTW, this is a ECU direct reading off of a VAG-COM. Thanks to Kerma for the 3 bar MAP. And everything else. lol

Do you have any pictures of the serial # plaque. That looks like a regular old garrett T3 to me.

It's a T3.
If it was a T2, it would have water cooling connectors on the center, in addition to the oil feed connections seen in the picture.

the downpipe side looks almost rounded instead of square.The wastegate fitting on mk2/ t3 are threaded instead of nipples.

Hey Guys, Thanks for the help identifying my turbo.
So if I put a boost controller on this T3 what is your input for type and PSI?
The link posted earlier has several varieties (single & two stage, manual and electronic).
http://www.boostcontroller.com/index.php?category=35Keep in mind that I understand that any setting over stock will be a significant increase in power but I don't want to blow any gaskets or cook food on the exhaust manifold and I really just want to increase the fuel economy (until I can afford to upgrade the FIP to include the aneroid).
Comments please... :wink:

I would go with a manual Turbo XS and set it at about 20psi for daily driving. Do you have ARP head studs ?
