hello
how does the oil splash guard on the camshaft is mounted?
do i have to take the cam out and bolt the splash guard with the same bolts?

Nope, it just lays on top of the cam towers, the valve cover helps hold it in place.

will it work with all types of valve covers?
i am planning on putting the 2E(2.0gti) cover i have laying around...

It should. I am using one with a G60 valve cover and it is doing fine.
