  how does the oil splash guard on the camshaft is mounted?
  do i have to take the cam out and bolt the splash guard with the same bolts?

• Nope, it just lays on top of the cam towers, the valve cover helps hold it in place.

• will it work with all types of valve covers?
  i am planning on putting the 2E(2.0gti) cover i have laying around...

• It should. I am using one with a G60 valve cover and it is doing fine.
