How do, just wondered if anyone had come accross these symtoms before.
Problem worse when warm.
Problem worse going up hill.
Problem not so bad going down hill but still being driven like an idiot.
Driving along (No Tacho), when higher revs are used the power starts to drop off quite suddenly then really cuts back on power. Whilst it's doing this it chucks a load of propper black smoke out from the rear.
Injectors have been pot tested - Okay.
Pump timing bang on .8mm lift@TDC.
Cam timing bob on.
I connected a boost gauge inline just to see whats happening, as you accelerate the boost gradually rises as you would expect, just before power drops the boost pressure seems to be in the region of .8-.9 bar, hard to tell for dodging padestrians and learner drivers...
Then, when power starts to drop, boost drops off to almost zero, smoke!
Checked inlet manifold, pipework for leaks, non found.
Now I can't decide if its the pump thats doing something weird or the wastegate is leaking by.
Going to get turbo checked out in next few days, just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on the matter.
