I was trying to find out what turbo was used on the Eco Diesel. I need the compressor inlet size (in inches or mm) and the outlet of the compressor. What is the max boost pressure its capable of producing? About how soon does the boost comes on?
The reason is that I'm thinking of trying to install an IHI VF14 off a 2ltr subie motor. It is ball bearing, so they say its spool-up is 30% faster and it has 30% more top end than a non bb of the same size. This turbo is part of a twin turbo set up that came off a Subaru Legacy that produced 280 hp. I will be using the larger of the two. The only thing I could think of that was comparable was the Eco diesel turbo. I am looking to increase my mid and upper mid torque. I don't know how many pounds of boost this is capable of by itself, I can't find a compressor map for the VF14.
Thanks-JB
you could try it, but gasser turbo's aren't like diesel ones... being ball bearing might help it out, but it might not be enough. it has to do with the powerband of the motor. turbo gassers make their power way up in the rpm range, where diesel motors make it nice and low.
i'm pretty sure that the eco's had K14's on them. good up to about 15-18 psi.

Surely then you want to use them both
What size Subaru ? 2.5L ? Sounds like it would expect far more volume than your 1.6L at 2/3 the RPM's. IMHO
