aaz 1.6td head cross over questions
« on: October 21, 2008, 12:34:04 am »
im trying to build
1 complete aaz head

from ...

1 aaz head with aaz valves and the valve stem seals to go with
1 aaz cam
(intakes don't need to be worried about)

I have a complete and other wise fine working 1.6td hydro head except for cracks between the valves.

I want to switch all the 1.6td head components over to save money. They all work fine as far as i can tell. (the car ran before i pulled it apart)
I KNOW the lifters are the same size for the AAZ and 1.6TD. does everything else cross over like the lifters do?
such as, those little inserts and springs and so on? (all the little bits)
the 1.6TD is a hydro head of course. I made sure of that before buying the aaz one.

I have absolutely no money so if anyone has any input i'd love to hear it before i break things

The springs, seats, keepers, lifters, and collets from the 1.6 should fit directly on the 1.9 head.

Note: I found a problem in using the 1.6 steel valve cover on the 1.9 head:

YES just the words i was hoping!

Yeah I know about the head. its a tricy one BUT
Im going to drill holes in the head for and see what i can do for the center mounts on the aaz head for the 1.6 CCover.
Perhaps its possible to utalize all the mounts for the aaz and the 1.6 cam cover.
Maybe cut out some gaskets for the center mounts and have them go completely throuh the cam cover and use butterfly nuts on it? :P
just a thought. I'll come up with something im sure.
