Injection quantity bushing (internal IP)
« on: October 20, 2008, 11:58:21 pm »
So for those of you who don't know I have had my pump apart and noticed something odd...the iq bushing is "floating" behind the throttle linkage assembly.  Isn't the hole in the side of the bushing supposed to connect to the linkage?  It would seem that the ball on the end of the linkage would fit in the side of the bushing and then slide the bushing up and down the shaft as throttle is applied or removed or am I mistaken?  Has anyone ever heard of this popping out on a running car?

Well I found the diagram showing that the bushing is connected to the linkage but that still doesn't explain why it would've come undone while assembled.  oh well.

Huh, that is strange. Yes, it definitely should be engaged into that hole.
Glad it did not run away on you!
