for what it's worth, has anyone ever used 1.6 injectors and fuel lines in an AAZ? I have a set of GTD nozzles for my MK 1 AAZ project, and I have a pop tester, but I don't know much about AAZ stuff. The injectors on the AAZ have more moving parts than 1.6 injectors. Maybe you can't even put 1.6 injectors in an AAZ I dunno but hey if anyone has thoughts about this please reply. Which bodies would you put the GTD nozzles in?

They will fit in either, the AAZ injectors need to be set by a shop. they have 2 breaking pressures that i doubt you will be able to set with your pop tester.

Put the tips in the standard 1.6 bodies set and run.

Note; the AAZ injectors are suppose to be quieter due to the 2 different opening pressures I'm told.

The AAZ hardlines are a different length and have slightly different bends, so it's a good idea to round up a set of 1.6-type hard lines if you're gonna switch an AAZ engine to 1.6-type injectors.

Otherwise it's all good... and certainly the single-spring injectors are easier to play with.

I thought so... thanks gentlemen. I am setting up a mint 82 Caddy with a 97 AAZ, 10 mm pump head, GTD injectors, techtonics 2.25" stainless exhaust and a saab 900 aluminum intercooler. Just brought the Caddy back east from Cali. NO RUST

Just an interesting bit of info to add to the previous - the Passat "umwelt" or eco TD's from '91 to '93 came originally with the AAZ engine and single stage injectors. So the single stage will definitely work for you, as that's how it came from the factory on my car.

Just make sure that your fuel lines match the length of the valve extension (? don't know the correct name for it - where you attach the lines to the pump). There are two lengths of valve extensions, the long ones (about 4 cm.) and the short ones (about 2 cm.). And then of course, that the lines are matched to the injectors - single stage (short injectors) or 2 stage (long injectors).

delivery valve holders is the term you are looking for
