My RA engine has spat its headgasket and when I've pulled it off its full of cracks!!
Been offered an SB head, is this a direct fit?
JR, SB and RA are interchangeable as far as I know.
as long as they are all hydraulic (some JR are mechanical) they can be swapped.
it willbolt right on, on ETKA the difference in the code is given only by the last letter, no major difference...
good good
what about putting a K24 Turbo on to replace the Garett T2, will is fit straight on or will i need the manifolds, water & oil feed pipes etc?
i did just abut the same swap...it should be a staright fit, appart the oil return hose and the air inlet(filter-turbine) that could differ in diameter.
did you notice any diference in the way the car drove?
i don't have the sb/ra...i have the jr, i had a big stock turbo t3...that kicked off after 3000rpm, now i went with the kkk from an 1.9 aaz(it kicks off at 2500rpm, in comparisson with the sb kkk/garett this aaz is slightly bigger....i would stay with the stock one on your RA/SB...i had the sb on a audi 80 and it began filling up to 0.82 bar at only 2000 rpm...that is a very quick response...
ps....you can rarely find a water cooled turbo...as yours is...
