My cracked block

I took this to the shop to get bored and they found this crack:'

 I think pistons hit valves in this engine before I got it, bad crank sprocket keyway.
 This crack is in the 3rd main, working it's way down the oil supply hole and deeper into the block.
Tornado red, '91 Golf 4 door, with M-TDI 12mm pump, south bend clutch, VNT-15 turbo, 02A trany
MK4s: 2000 TDI jetta, 2003 TDI wagon, 2000 golf 2.0 gasser.
'84 Rabbit with 1.7TD KY block pistons bored to 80mm, VNT-15
'84 GTI with stock 1.6TD starion intercooler.

Yeah, I never thought of looking there but I guess they've seen it on the chevy V8s.
 They saved me a bunch of trouble,.. probably shouldn't complain about them being slow. :)
