Can someone tell me if I need special tools to do rear pads on the car? I have to do it tomorrow.I've done fronts a few times but I'm not sure about the rear because of the hand brake.
Any input is appreciated
Thanx
its been a while but I think you need to twist the piston while you push it in..
Anyone else remember?
My older Passat rears are that way at least.
I just used a regular disk compressor and a pair of channel lock pliers to twist the piston as I pushed it in.
Have to be careful though it's easy to mess up the boot of mar the piston.
Pretty much the only tool needed is something to retract the piston. Has to push and rotate simultaneously.
Well if he doesn't have the rear disk specific tool he will need to twist the piston somehow..
It wont twist on it's own.
