What should I do for a clutch? The stock clutch is beefy, but we're talkin a lot of torque here.

g60 flywheel and vr6 clutch, can't remember if you have to swap gearbox as well, but the stock one might not take it.

I used an ACT assembly on mine, but it's an AAZ and uses a bigger flywheel.

If your running a 020 trans. stock. Try a 200mm solid hub Bug clutch disk and a 210mm 16v presure plate and a 210mm flywheel. No need to buy a 02A or 02J trans, unless you've got the money? My .02 cents.

I'll get a PN tomarrow for the disk. As far as holding, I know a few racers with Rabbits and a rally racer that are useing it and no complaints as of yet.

In a gasser application, the 020 trans is ok up to 200hp (borderline). The torque numbers are usually close to the hp numbers on an NA gasser. If you are talking about TD running 200hp, you need to upgrade the trans to an 02a or 02j. 02m would be the best!
02a/etc. would be the best. use an ACT kit for a VR6 (stage2, sprung center, built pp).
this is the tested formula for gassers running 250-300hp. Remember, gassers run close torque ratings to hp. Diesel is another story.

I thought an idi running 200hp would not be making much more torque than 200 ft/lbs :? I thought it was thje tdi's and then the pd tdis that made alot more torque. If not show me some graphs please

02a passat or corrado is usually easist. around 90-92 passats are getting dirt cheap. people will give them away....
here is power torque graph of 1.6TD (52kW mkI TDs). its in metric though and at first it looks like the power is higher....

I think my cost is around $30.00.
I do not have one in my vehicle as of yet but I know of someone who is running one in a race Rabbit (auto cross) and he says its the best combo yet.
Not 200+hp but close to 180hp.
