Not a transverse VW, no. So no to Rabbits, Jettas, and B3+ Passats.

Yes in a B2 Passat (Quantum) if the car in question was originally a 5-cylinder model.

I dunno if there were ever any 5-cylinder B1 Passats (Dashers).

Bet I'd have to pull the engine to do a timing belt change if it was in my truck. Belt in the rear, YUCK!!!

Just from the cam to the pump... really short belt! I have one for my own NA 5-can diesel.

As soon as I get my 1980 Audi 5000 with a 1983 Turbo Diesel motor running again, it will be for sale.  The pistons are 3rd oversize with gapless rings, and the injector pump was just rebuilt.

1x.  i know someone with a 5 cyl 2.0 TD.  he has a k14 turbo and that thing is amazing... total seal rings and its even bored out a bit too  8) the belt is easily accessible  :wink:

the problem is that the motor sticks out front quite a bit... as long as you could make room you'll be fine though.
