• I had a solid lifter MF code 1985 Jetta turbo diesel, they do exist (or maybe that is existed...)

  yes now that i thought about it your right! i do remember and they may be hard to find because of such a short time being made from the factory!

• The motor in my '91 Jetta is an MF code solid lifter block.  And, yes, they do have 12mm head bolts (or studs if you go that route).

  Thanks.... I'm a little frustrated because the vendor (Parts Place)who said three weeks to put together a short block is going on six, and I need this car running.

• I have a block at the machinist getting ready to be bored for 1.7 pistons,... they told me it is cracked so it looks like I'll be needing this block.
