that G40 cover will not work on a 1.6 nor a 1.9 because both ends have a half moon cut out like the pully side on the 1.6 and 1.9 does
 a G60 cover will work on a 1.9 the head would have to be drilled and taped in 8 spots and all the center studs removed hope that helps you guys?

1.9 idi  had on in my mk2 golf for a while , i don the gov mod adv pump and turnd up the max fuel screw , and it would take std 1.6 td idis , the best thing in that engine is the inlet manfold
