have i got a seat engine?

Hi guys picked up a 89 golf caddy today just wondering what the engine is,it doesnt look anything like my old mk2 block,The number on the cylinder head is 0Z6103373M and on the bottom of the block it has 12M91 ill try get some pics up if that'll help.

Well the valve cover looks AAZish. Is it a 1.9?

To me, it just looks like an ordinary aaz IDI, non turbo :) seat, vw, audi..

Its a 1.6 or so the guy i bought it off said,he didnt know to much about it though he bought the car for parts but it was to good to break so i got it!

1.6 would have a valve cover that bolts on along the edge, not down the middle unless it's a 1.6 with a 1.9 head. It would say on the block on the exhaust side more towards the tranny.

Didnt the 1.4idi also have that valve cover?

1.4 idi has the injectors on the other side.

this looks like a 1.9D engine found on golf mk3 van, seat inca... almost all commercial vehicles as its more reliable than the TD.

beautiful intake manifold, I was able to get one from ebay :D
