Idle Boost w/ A/C?
«

I'm noticing that the idle on my ECO seems rather low when the A/C is on. It is fine otherwise. Is there any downside to pulling out the dash lever just a bit to kick the idle up when the A/C is on (especially for stop & go, not hwy driving)? IIRC, that advances timing??
It doesn't usually die, although I have had at least one instance of putting in the clutch to make a right hander and the combination of the steering and the A/C managed to kill it.
Thanks in advance (pun intended)...

Get rid of the power steering
Honestly, I was thinking the same thing, it is very boggy when running with the AC.

Are you referring to the timing advance lever?

it only increases timing till about 1800, then the natural timing advance takes over.
louder idle is all you'll experience, and possibly higher fuel consumption.

Thanks for all of the input. Sounds like I have my answer... I agree it probably leads to a bit worse mileage, but then so does running the A/C. Anyway, running the A/C is always a calculated risk - you have to decide which you want more - dry armpits or half the world up your backside 'cause you're accelerating at...no, wait. You can't legitimately call it acceleration...
