• Did the mods, more fuel and such, notice she puffs a little if revved at idle?
  Is this normal?

• too much fuel = too much smoke = too much high temperature....not good!

• at step 3, it says to turn the screw of the max fueling adjuster, its probably that step where you maybe turned the screw too much..

• I would back the fueling screw off to the least smoke, or no smoke at all depending on the age of the engine if that at all possible.
