did you set the pump timing? Did you set the pump timing with the advance knob pushed in?

A rich diesel just revs up. I'd say timing is off, probably retarded.

'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.
I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

yup, same case as I.
you get unburnt fuel from the exhaust no matter how low the rpm right?
you can have air in the IP, a leak somewhere or timing issues.
or all of the above

no just on hard accel, an if i open er up all the way it just pours black smoke out, it def makes cars dissapear! haha
it runs great, starts up perfect, but i only need to pull the lever out about half way for just a few min in the morning. it smoke a little bit right off idle an then if i stay in it, it starts pouring black smoke, i cant hit full throttle cause its black way before that haha
