Of course not, how can you break the cam when the cam timing tool isn't even installed when you are removing the cam bolt?

I have one of those kits, it certainly isn't the highest quality but it definitly is not crap. I'd never hesitate to use it if I couldn't find my other one

I don't know. I got a used one. It comes in a padded case and everything. I'll try and get a name off of it.

i used the cam locking plate from that kit to remove my cam sprocket bolt... never had an issue yet!
now put some loctite on that bolt and we might have an issue...
