I must say that this timing set is really good.  the cam locking plate fits in really snug, and won't allow the end to break when removing the cam sprocket bolt.

There is also good preload on the dial indicator, and its METRIC  8)

sweet deal just thought i'd share.

oh and i snagged the one that was in english

Of course not, how can you break the cam when the cam timing tool isn't even installed when you are removing the cam bolt? ;)

I have one of those kits, it certainly isn't the highest quality but it definitly is not crap. I'd never hesitate to use it if I couldn't find my other one

Burn, what is your preferred set, and how does it compare price-wise to this one?

I don't know. I got a used one. It comes in a padded case and everything. I'll try and get a name off of it.

Found this while searching to try and find another supplier.  I know nothing of their quality and it's not the same part but:

http://www.filterbuy.com/toolsite/schley.html

At least they're willing to put a brand name on it.  Go down almost halfway to 83300.  There's lots of other VW tools as well.

Also if you click on Home and then the page for Assenmacher tools, there are more VW specific tools.

i used the cam locking plate from that kit to remove my cam sprocket bolt... never had an issue yet!

now put some loctite on that bolt and we might have an issue...
