I found out yesterday that one of the adjusting bolts for my AC compressor has rattled it's way out.
At the local junkyard, diesel jettas are not terribly plentiful. However there are tons of gas ones. So I was wondering...
Does a gasser has the same identical bolt that I could go and snatch?
Thanks, Matt
yes it does,
I had the same problem only all the bolts fell out, and my AC compressor was only held on by the belt ( still drove for about a month  )
What?!? Wow!
Good news about the bolt though! Thanks smoken!

Those bolts tend to fall out. That same thing happened to a friend's mk2 gasser: it was held in place by.. ehmm.. magic.
The bolts are almost the same (M8, and M10 bolts and nuts), the adjusting bolt is exactly the same, but has a different reference number (one for diesels, one for gassers).
Here you go. The first one is diesel, the second is gasser.
When I was rebuilding my engine I used my Dremel and cut a "X" in the end of the bolt and spread it apart a tad with a small screw driver to prevent it from falling out..
Still there today. Of course I only have about 5000 miles on it.
