K-24 & T3?

Whats the difference between a Garett T3 and a KKK k24?

Which one is better?

Both of them originally came with the 1.6TD in MKIIs and both the turbos put of the same horsepower and both have same size...  so which is better, any pros and cons of the two?

A con of the k24 is that the wastegate may seize up.

Why install a T3, of course.   Seriously, I've never heard of a wastegate seizing on a diesel, but tha discussion points are all true. The T3 makes a little better power on the top end.

Which is better... Pepsi or Coke ??

Both turbos work fine.  Both are slower to develop boost than their smaller cousins like the K14 but both have a bit more top-end omph in exchange.

VW treated them pretty much interchangeably and in my opinion so can you... find a good one, install it, and move on to other concerns !!

That you all for the replies!

Yeha Vince is right, MkII drivers always have other bigger concerns to worry about!

I hope your not using mine as a way of gauging that. It has a leak before the turbo in the exhaust somewhere.
