Who knows? Then I guess you'd be the first to see if it will work or not.

it works, just make the Bore to 79,51..clearance is at 0,03mm for IDI

i know one 1,6TD Engine (driven very hard) made 60.000km until one cylinder-wall cracked.
on the next completely new engine engine a  conrod cracked after 1500km

if it is a hydraulic lifter block i suggest a 1,9 with metal-headgasket would be good for performance, the extra coolant holes can be drilled in the 1,6 block.

The engine with the cracked wall and cracked conrod was a 1.6 block bored to take 1.7 pistons??

yea my 1.6 block is hydraulic lifter one...  so u mean i shoud use head from a 1.9 with metal headgasket?

yes it was a 1,6TD with 1,7l pistons

if you want Performance running high boost at high RPM, it may be a good way to go.

Hmm yeha thats what i think.. But then i want reliability and mid range torque as well..

Which setup out of the two will give me a fast, reliable, torquey performance car. My car is an MKII.

Setup1

1.6 (MF)Turbo (I dont know the turbo name; please tell me if you do. Its a KKK tho)
1.6 Turbo IP with GTD Nozzles.
1.9 stock head
1.9 Stock Block.

Setup2

1.6 (MF) Turbo
1.6 Turbo IP with GTD nozzles.
1.9 Stock Head
1.6 Block with 1.7 pistons.

From the post above, the #2 setup doesn't sound very reliable. The block probably cracked from too little metal being left after the over bore. 1.9 will give more torque and be way more reliable in my opinion.

This is whats written on the compressor side of my MFengine turbo.

36W
KKK (in a triangle format)
5342 101 50  (99 is written in a circle it might be the serial number or sumthing)

So what turbo do i have?

the 1.7 motor is coded KY
the full piston # is 033 107 065
If you have an mf, and you have a 3k turbo, it's likely a k24. Is there a 068 # on the tag?

you should find a blue metal tag on the inside of the compressor side - it should say the model number on it..

the 99 thing in the circle is the manufacturing date you should also see dots in it a max of 12 - then the year number changes.

Thanx Zulfiqar..

U didnt reply to my messge..?

Which Turbo did u have on ur golf in pk??  and i dont think the number in the circle is the manufacturing date.. cuz my Merc e300td...  has the number 74 in the circle... and the car is a 99 year..  so thats contradicting!
