I put a Garret T3 on my AAZ. I'm sorry, but I'm unfamiliar with the size of either of those that you mention. The main problem is not turbo size, but fuel. Go out and get Giles to do your pump. You'll be amazed.

K26 is used on Mercedes 300TD and, I think, Porsche 924 and 944 turbo. It's a little big for a 1.9TD.

the K26 is a big turbo i run one on my 1.8 gas stroker caddy w/N.O.S. so it's a by right a 1.9liter gas motor! it takes longer to spool up then the IHI turbo i had on it before!
a smaller turbo will give you better responce at lower end then the larger one! it will work but you will be twitlin you thumbs waiting for the boost to come on when you get on the freeway on ramp! not much fun?
thanks Duane

Past posts seem to point at the idea that it is too big.  No boost until way late.
