10mm shaft
« on: December 24, 2007, 06:22:30 am »
Im doing some modifications to my fuel pump ive got it apart now.Ive upgraded to a 10mm pump head instead of the 9mm on stock vw.Now all things considered, this is a substantial upgrade in itself correct? Now for the aneroid housing, ive located the fuel pin travel on the control cone and i found that the restriction to full fuel(top of pin)is exactly the width of the nylon washer. So i took that out.The question is :that modification will only bring on more fuel under high boost right? So im retaining settings until boost pressure can push spring down past the original stopping point?

No washer = more fuel under full boost.

Well ive got my pump coming together now.Yesterday,I successfully installed the 10mm plunger from the peug.505.Everything went well till it came time to install head and spring assembly! It was akward trying to slide plunger in without springs falling out.I kind if had to tilt it abit.I also had to put a dab of grease on the collar plate springs to get them in.Im  excited :D I cant wait!Ive decided to keep everything else at stock so i can document my steps towards oblivion :P This setup will be boosted via. t3 or k26.My thoughts are leanig towards reliability with the turbo(one thats not working so hard)I wish i had my camera when i put the head on(im documenting everything for a master post in the future!)
