help!i cant get the top off my ve pump.It seems like its stuck.there is movement.feels like the guide pin is catching on control cone.Does anyone know if i should have to take the whole lda assembly off to get to the control cone?
if you have turned the diaphram at all, you have probably rotated it away from the lowst slope part. You have to gently pull and turn until you find the lowest slope side of the LDA pin. Then it will pop right out.
If the seal on the dinky little pin that rides on the LDA is shot, its almost impossible to get the LDA pin out. You may have to pull the top of the pump off and disassemble the linkage under the space ship.
I hade to do this when I bult my 1.5TD pump. I had an acient TD pump with bagged seals. The LDA pin would not come out at all.
yeah ,i tried to finess it again today but no luck. There is play in the assembly(black rubber seal and screw). Now im removing the whole top assembly, but i ran in to trouble with that to.the four bolts that hold it down ,well two are allen type and the other two are flathead. The flathead bolts are giving me touble(dont want to damage anything.
thank ben
Rotate the lda pin 360 degrees and pull. It should clear the pin.
ok its off i applied some gentle pressure under the diaphram,it did the trick
