and you need an Automatic  starter ( mounts on passenger side of engine)

you will have Rad and alternator clearance problems  .... and have to  modify the downpipe if you go  turbo ....

Admittedly I don't know what the "single seater mid engine diesel commuter" being built will look like, but I'm doing just fine using a stock Dasher starter in my setup. It mounts on the manifold side of the engine, under the exhaust manifold and beside the turbo.  The stock Dasher diesel radiator is keeping things cool as well.

My Dasher is using the stock belts and brackets (AC compressor runs off the crankshaft and alternator runs off the AC compressor), Quantum TD exhaust manifold (the turbo is "beside" cylinder 4) and a custom 2.5" downpipe (a stock Quantum TD one fit perfectly, I just wanted a larger diameter).

(I have a stock-sized NOS Bosal downpipe for sale, should anyone need it.)

Regarding an LSD for 013: not available from Quaife or Peloquin.  What we got as the VW Fox in North America 1987-1993 is built on the BX platform from Brazil and there they're very popular.  I don't know where to buy from, but I know LSDs exist in Brazil.

This thread is of interest to me because I have an Audi 4000S Quattro sitting around that I'm not driving.  1.6TD bolted to this = diesel Quattro?

Its been a dream ever since I got my license to have a diesel Quattro.

That was my dream as well, for awhile. What I found was that the 4cyl and 5/6cyl bellhousings are different. If you could find a decent 5 cyl TD from a 5000 or even a 6cyl VW TD from a Volvo 740 that would bolt to a Quattro trans. If you want to go 4cyl you need an adapter plate. After I gave up on that idea I built this:
