AAZ coolant pumps.
« on: November 16, 2007, 09:29:30 am »
I was given the wrong water pump by the Toronto reman shop that sold me a 1.9 TD. The thing  does not even look that it could fit. My problem is that not being familiar with VWs I dont know what I have. The casting bears the following number:
037 121 012 A

Could any one advise me and show me  a picture, numbers etc... of what a pump for a 1.9 TD should look like. And if you feel like it, tell me where I should go and buy a new one.
 Thanks.

that is with the housing, its pretty big.

that is the waterpump unit itself.  most people just get the whole thing with the housing as some of the water pump bolts are usually 'stuck' by corrosion, and the fact that if you make any gouges on the aluminum sealing surface, you can/will get leaks.

Thanks JTanguay,
This is my pump alright and I managed to open it without breaking bolts. I think the problem was and still is that the secondary shaft pulley does not leave enough room for the front end of the pump to be there. The pulley does not seem to be aligned properly with  the 3 others.  If you have any advice as to how to remove this pulley you are welcome.

Thanks again for your time.
