Anybody still making those flanges? Mine is leaking too.
Would anyone have an accurate drawing of the plate so I can make one
Quote from: "burn_your_money"Where do you get your attachment to the block from Andrew? Early 1.5s? and 1.6s?I have just taken the block off plate, drilled it, tapped it for pipe thread and installed a pipe to barb fitting. The 1.6 oil separator has only 1 input and so it is a good idea to either use one of the later ones or install a tee to allow the block vent to enter prior to the oil separator. This is easily accomplished on the vanagon (tilted 50°) by moving the separator on top of the block fitting with the tee up to the valve cover. It would be a little more challenging on the golf/jetta. On those, easier would be to get a later model separator. Andrew

Yes, flat steel plate next to the oil filter flange held on by two allens.

QuoteCan't you just use a block off plate like the 1.6td has?The added block vent is a very good upgrade to the 1.6. It allows the flow of vapors from the block without fighting against the flow of oil back to the pan from the head. The block vent will reduce the amount of oil mist into the intake. I add the block vent to the 1.6s that I run. I personally wouldn't disable the improvement on the later motors although one could.Andrew
