BOOST PIN POSITION
« on: October 16, 2007, 02:58:37 pm »
have finally got my AAZ in and sorted - replaced the very poorly SB. have got the boost pin from my 1.6 still
have read the 1.9TD  FAQ but where it has been translated into english its a bit , well , erm , dodgy
am i right in saying the back/flat part of the pin facing the cambelt cover is the 'softest' and having the full 'ramp' facing the cover is the 'go fast' setting ?
like a complete to$$er i have taken the pin out and stripped/cleaned all the oil off the diaphragm etc so have 'lost' factory marks. what is best position to start off at ? cheers   elvis

(ps - going in a vanagon/T3/T25whatever  - running a 2.5" open pipe and no other mods beside ditching the switch etc from the top of the throttle and wiring the advance solenoid to ignition live-fuel stop solenoid-might have a fiddle with max fuelling screw though)

Do the 'soft' bit first then the steepest then decide hat suits your driving style

if you look down where the pin goes, u can see the piece that rides on the pin.
