alternator mounting? 91 eco jetta
« on: September 18, 2007, 05:53:59 pm »
trying to mount my alternator without having the a/c compressor installed. My alt. was driven by the a/c which was driven by the crank. Is there a different bracket for a non-a/c alternator mount? if so does anyone have pics? or the bracket. It also has p/s. thank you for any help.

I think if you remove the A/C pump and add an extension on the alternator with a longer V-belt it can be done sorry i have no pics.!
 thanks Duane

I got the alternator bracket made. there is a perfect picture with measurements, I believe on the other post mentioned. It was not hard at all. Some 1/4" plate and a little time and you are in business. I just left the alt. in it's stock position and rotated it down. Looks and works great. You can look all over for the brackets for over 100$ if you want. Good luck!
