The TD block casting is identical to the 1Z and AHU TDI. The only difference is that the boss for the crank position sensor is not machined. If you're going mechanical you don't need it. The crank also does not have the reluctor wheel for the crank sensor, again, you won't need it. The bore and stroke are the same as are all the engine bearings. The TDI head will bolt right on. But...if you have all the TDI guts and the head, chances are you have the block as well. Not much sense swapping it all over.
