Yeah not exactly cheap, but they are pretty sweet.  I like mine for sure.

Heck I figured I was gonna be spending at least $500 in single gauges anyway, then figureing out where to mount 6 gauges in a MK2 was gonna be fun if I wanted to maintain the stereo.

I just added up Auto Meter Ultra-Lite II gauges and was @ $485.00 and hadent added the oil temp gauge or shiping/handeling etc.

These gauges are right there on pricing and look good to boot.

I like the quality, the glass is very nice and the aluminum is really nice.  They make aircraft gauges normally :)

Those are good prices but where the hell do you mount 6 gauges in a MK2?
Any make an A pillar mount for three gauges? I can mount the other 3 in the Radio location.

Another thing to add is you cannot dim those gauges, they are on or off.

I can see this being a problem in a snow storm @ nite in traffic.

It's not a MkII, but I am planning on putting twelve gauges of various types in my '88 Fox wagon.  :D

Dash is cracking, I have fiberglass skills and a connection with a plasticized spray on bedliner shop... so we have custom dash pad in the works, with a built-in and hopefully aesthetics matching place to put the gauges! :lol:

And of course Fatmobile's favorite... a vacuum  gauge on the pump side of the fuel filter so you can detect clogged filters etc.

I'm adding current metering as we speak... finally found a good ammeter with a remote shunt.

Good find with the remote ammeter so you don't have to run those fat wires into the passenger compartment, one of them shorts and it'll get way hot, way fast.
 Of course the vaccum gauge.
 Let's see on the Golf I have EGT, boost, and fuel pressure on the A pillar.
 Standard oil temp,  pressure and volts in the center console.
 Some A2, Jetta GLIs had an MFA that would post outside temp, oil temp, RPM, MPG (fed by a vacuum sensor) I think, hours of driving and maybe a trip meter.... all in a space of about a couple square inches in the stock cluster.
 A button on the wiper stalk was used to change between readings.

There, twelve gauges. All the different ones air-related are mostly so I can plug and play experiment with different turbos and intercooling methods and get some good, solid, comprehensive data on what each does to the induction setup.
