alright mr passenger performance...
i want a downpipe. pm me please.
for everything that is done to that jetta, there was no larger DP installed on it? hmmm
sorry to bring up an old post.. i just checked my old posts myself and saw this unanswered.
it's not for the car in the picture
it's for an mk2. although i possibly may get a 3" one for the pictured car as it's got a 2.5 incher.
No wonder that unit is expensive to make. Why is it not one piece? That would cut down the cost considerably.
It is not one piece because of the vibrations. A solid downpipe would not last. Even flex sections like Dave put in my downpipe wear out with the movement that these VW diesels put them through. The alternative to a flex joint is to go back to a "toilet bowl" like setup.

Too bad...I really want(ed) one!
How do I get a hold of passenger??? I've tried emailing several times, PMing on this site.. no go..
I need one of these while my engine is out of the car!
I'm glad to see he switched to stainless for the pipes. After only a year of use, mine is very rusty, even though I spent a lot to get it ceramichromed.
Actually, yours is looking about the same as mine, and mine is 2.5" 304SS on my 1.6td. Its gold colored now from exhaust heat, roughly from the turbo flange to a foot or so down stream.
I have the PP mild steel pipe on my 1.5td, and after an hour or so run time, its one big wad of rust.
