My car will not rev past midrange while under load. It seems to be starved for fuel. But i still have the black death cloud  ? The fuel filter has been replaced just 3000 miles ago. I have been running Biodiesel since then various blends. Is there a filter in the tank? It has been acting up latley and has just gotten worse. It will not pull well from 55mph up, EGTs high then it will feel really strong and EGTs are down, then back to runnin bad. Can't link it to the wether, wind, cold, hot, wet, dry? could the pump be goin out? :x :x :x :x this was my fuel effcient DD but now it sucks down my free fuel and is horribly slow on the 60mile trip to school then 60 back.

Just put a glass fuel filter in line between the ip and factory fuel filter. When its at idle the glass is only half full when i rev it up and hold it the filter almost goes empty. I'm thinkin i got some problems down stream.

something is leaking air into the system... the glass fuel filter should be full ... i think your pump may be on its way out too... biodiesel does clean out old pumps though. have you ever rebuilt your pump??? older pumps will start to leak from the BD.

it's probably just a like in the lines to your injector pump, could be anywhere fromt he tanke to the pump, check the crush washers first

jtanguay I was afraid that might be the case because i have not had the pump rebuilt. It has not started to leak yet and i have had the top cover off several times.
Trev0rbr I have had the banjo fittings off just recently and i guess that may be the case too.
Is there a filter in the tank? Some sort of screen?
I have had thoughts of installing a lift pump back by the tank. Do you think this would help my probs. i guess if the pump is goin out then thats all there is too it.

after you first started running BD how long after did you change the filter? I don't think there are any other filters, but the pickup might have a mesh coving if it is like a mk1

I changed the filter after about 1 tank of 30% bio. My uncle said his rabbit pick up has a screen in the tank. I guess i'll have to lift the seat and find out. :?

My uncle has a holley blue pump that i may use to supply fuel to the IP. I think i will use a return style regulator set somewhere around 7-9psi. Does this sound effective. I think the blue is around 14psi.

I installed the Holley blue down by the tank. I will wire it up today.(some reason i did not feel like it this morning at 2:00am) I'm going to run it like that untill i get a regulator then its new viton hoes and 9psi to the pump. After messing with it I think the filter is plugged and i will replace it today also.

hey,
the banjo fitting for the return has only a tiny hole in it to keep pressure in the pump housing...i once replaced it with a different one that was freeflowing and the same thing happened to me....it would run fine but choke as it got to higher rpms because it was circulating soo much fuel through the pump that it had no fuel left over to inject into the engine.
hope that helps
