Hi everyone, This is actually Eli, Ross let me use his Login. Thanks again Ross!
I need to replace my intake valves in my D24t (out of a volvo mid 80's) and the price for the valves under the volvo part number is outrageous. I was hoping that the Intake Valves from some VW diesels around the same year would be interchangeable. Anyone have any idea about this? And if so, which VW?
Oh yeah, and the whole reason I am using Ross' login is cause I never received my registration email for Log In "Eli", if someone could look into that would be totally awesome. I don't know how to contact the administrators?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Hi Eli, the Audi 2.0 5 cyl TD uses the same size intake valves but are really hard to find. They are 36 mm x104.8 mm compared to VW's 1.6 TD 34mm x 104.8 mm. All later VW valves are used with hydraulic lifters and are shorter.
I have bought Volvo intake valves for my Audi from Altrom before, they are about $20.00 a piece.
The replacement valves have 3 grooves compared to 1 groove on the earlier types so you may have to change the keepers and valve spring retainers.( use later 1.6 VW Gas or diesel parts here)
I don't know where you are located but look here:

I have a set of Audi non turbo valves. PM if interested.
Hi everyone, Eli again.
Sorry its been a little while. All I really had to know is if the valves were the same as vw's. When I heard they weren't, I ordered Volvo specific valves from Volvopartsdirect.com 15.40 each. Not so bad...
So thanks for your help.
That only leaves my account, Can someone tell me how to get in touch with an administrator? Or maybe if you are an administrator and are reading this you could send me another registration email for account name: Eli

I would be so thrilled.
Thanks again. Thanks to you as well Ross, couldn't have done it without you.
